"Strength & Balance"
Manta Clinic is run by myself Gayle, I am a very experienced musculoskeletal therapist practising a unique blend of physiotherapy and manipulative technique. My aim is to restore strength and balance to your body whatever the health issue or injury.
By aligning the spine and correcting muscle imbalances, many people find that they not only feel better by the reduction of pain, but also have more energy and vitality.I treat a variety of conditions, including all muscles and joints of the body arising from sports injury, repetitive strain, arthritic conditions, and pre and post -surgical rehabilitation.
After gaining invaluable experience and clinical skills from my work within various NHS settings I set up my own clinic in 2005, whilst also working part time within local Military settings of the RAF and Army, Given my very hands on approach to treatment I travelled to Australia to undertake my Post Graduate Diploma in Manual and Sports Therapy gaining hands on experience of working with the local Aussie Rules sports team as well as working in a local Physio clinic.
After moving back to my home county of Yorkshire in 2021 I opened my clinic in Filey, where my ethos is to provide a friendly relaxed environment in which you can feel comfortable to discuss and be treated for any health issues or injuries you may have. As my career evolved i graduated from the following universities:
Through the diversity of my career and education to date I feel I've gained a wealth of skills and expertise to ensure you receive the best evidence- based care at my clinic.
I'm truly passionate about my work, and I firmly believe that physiotherapy and manipulative techniques can make a real difference in people's lives. I'm always looking for new ways to help my patients improve their overall health and well-being.
I'm an author and spend very long hours at my desk which has given me neck, back and shoulder pain. My mother in law recommended Gayle and I've been so impressed. I've felt a big difference after every session and it's wonderful not to spend each day in pain. Not only is Gayle brilliant at what she does, but she's a lovely person too - warm, friendly and good at explaining what she's doing. Highly recommended - you won't regret it.

I discovered Gayle at Manta Physiotherapy in the Spring of 2022. I had just undergone a right knee replacement which was not wholly successful in that it required a further in-theatre “Manipulation” in order start the process of trying to bend it again. I think at the time of that appointment I could only bend my knee through 10 degrees. Gayle proved to be exactly what was required. She is a very hands-on Physio and in our 6-times-per- week sessions she was not afraid to continually man-handle my leg so that we were progressing steadily towards the goal of a 90-degree bend. The sessions did involve taking my knee beyond its comfort zone – but that is exactly what was required. In the Summer of 2022 my knee function was so much restored that I was able to climb a 1500 ft peak in the Lake District – which would have been impossible a few months earlier. All down to Gayle. I would recommend her to everyone. She combines a lovely welcoming atmosphere with complete professionalism. Although our sessions did necessarily involve some pain, I looked forward to every one of them!

I have suffered with back problems for a lot of years and have had treatment from countless different practitioners from accupuncture to chiropractor, physio, sports massage.
During lockdown I damaged my foot. This resulted in me being advised to walk as little as possible. Referral to Physio face to face, long wait for xray, then MRI. Further consultation on the phone with physio which resulted in me damaging my lower back doing the exercises sent to me online. The foot problem was diagnosed as peroneal brevis tendonitis.
For the following 8 months I had Sports Massage then accupuncture with some relief.
I THEN SAW MANTA PHYSIO ADVERTISED on Facebook. The bonus being it was in Filey which is local to me.
Starting off with weekly visits to Gayle and considerable pain my back and foot problem rapidly improved. Gayle uses a range of techniques many never used on me before with incredible results.
I now visit on a monthly basis to keep things in check and my back is the best it has ever been for years.
I have a range of exercises to carry out daily when needed. Depending on problem Gayle gives exercises to do at home/work.
I can highly recommend Gayle and do to all my friends. Please don't expect a gentle massage when u visit. Remember no pain no gain.

Having competed extensively in a couple of sports at both national and international level, I am no stranger to a physiotherapy clinic! Back, neck, shoulder, elbow, wrist, knee, ankle, foot injuries....I've had them all....!
Since moving to the area several years ago, I have struggled to locate a physio in whom I have confidence to be able to swiftly and effectively treat the injuries resulting from my training and competitions. I have in fact systematically worked my way through what has transpired to be a long list of physios and osteopaths, none of whom have been able to provide me with relief from a varying selection of injuries. Quite by chance, a few weeks ago, I was provided with an introduction to Gayle. Given the close proximity of her clinic to my home and the current restrictions on my training being dictated by a back and chest injury, I had nothing to lose by booking an appointment. Within just 2 appointments, the pain from my chest injury had completely disappeared and a further two appointments served to address my back problem! To say I am impressed is an understatement and I would in fact go as far as saying that Gayle is the most highly skilled and professional physio from whom I have ever received treatment and I can now train and compete safe in the knowledge that expert help and advice is on hand should injury strike again!"
